Professional Liability Defense
A large component of Coleman & Ragland's practice involves the defense of professional liability claims. Over the years, our attorneys have handled hundreds of cases in which professional reputations were on the line. We understand that we are not in the business merely to win these cases, but to provide peace of mind in the interim.
Nursing Home Claims. A recent Wall Street Journal article noted that the average jury verdict nationwide in nursing home claims is $1.3 million, suggesting that these are dangerous cases demanding competent defense counsel and relentless realism in case assessment. Our attorneys possess these qualities and have successfully resolved scores of these claims, in most cases obtaining defense verdicts where trial was unavoidable.
Nursing Malpractice. We offer representation to RNs, LPNs and nursing assistants in the context of claims brought against nursing homes, office practices and home health care.
Dental Malpractice. We have successfully represented dentists and endodontists in malpractice claims in both General District Court and Circuit Court, as well as before the Virginia Board of Dentistry.
